Three in the morning has its own kind of peace. The house is quiet, the street is empty, and no one needs anything from you. Small Hours is about that solitude: chosen, gentle and private.
The images are interiors and night scenes: a single lit window, an empty chair in the first light, a lamp on a page, a path marked out in small golden lights. The palette is deep ink and black, linen and lamplight gold, with an accent of night-blue.
Nothing dramatic happens in these works, and that is the point. They hold the hours that belong only to you, when your own company is enough.
The series opens with Small Hours, the peace of being awake alone, and closes with The Quiet Room, rest.
